Young Scientist Awards
The Young Scientist Awards for the year 2018
Applications/Nominations are invited for Young Scientist Awards for the year 2018 in
the five disciplines:
1. Mathematical Sciences 2. Physical Sciences 3. Chemical science 4. Biological Sciences
5. Engineering and Technology.
The Scientists should be below the age of 40 years as on 31/12/2018.
The Awards are supported partly by Saraswathy Srinivasan Trust and partly by
Dr. M. Anandakrishnan Endowment Fund. The purpose of the award is to spot
out young talents and so only those who have shown innovative thinking and originality
alone need apply or be nominated.
Summer Training Program
The Science City of the Government of Tamil Nadu is the sponsor of the Program and it is conducted every year for M.Sc. students during the summer vacation. This year, it will be conducted in four subjects - Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology - during the month of May-June 2019.
Physics & Chemistry Olympiad 2019
Physics & Chemistry Olympiad examination for P.G. students from Chennai city colleges and institutions will be conducted on Saturday, 16 February, 2019 at the Dept. of Nuclear Physics, University of Madras, Guindy Campus, Chennai - 600 025. For participation, P.G. students should register their names through their respective institutions on or before 25-01-2019.
Since only a limited number of students will be permitted, an early registration is advisable. The Test will be for 3 hours duration and will consist of multiple choice questions. The Syllabus and the standard of questions will be similar to UGC-CSIR NET examination.
